Hello,

It’s nice that you have clicked so far — let me tell you something from the heart.

I have been around for a while (more than two decades, to be exact, and still mysteriously unspecific) directing cool ads for clients from all over the world.

I have specialized in those projects that somehow want to escape the advertising mold. There's usually an adventurous creative director and brave client willing to reshape a brand, big or small.  I feel more and more privileged to have such a pigeonhole in our "reshoot the animatic" world.

Some basic “stats”: I’ve shot almost 400 films, working in a variety of styles (always request a reel for a specific project, and I’ll show you hidden gems), from clever low budgets to blockbuster ads. I have shot more than 1,000 shooting days in more than 40 countries—from -40 to +50 degrees Celsius, from Siberia to the Sahara.

Now for some deeper thoughts.

I believe in the “universal” aspect of film language. That elusive, timeless way of storytelling that people instinctively feel and react to with more attention. And we live in the attention economy, right? Each new trick has a shorter and shorter lifespan, as there are so many moving images. Way too many. We need to stick to truth to cut through the noise that’s getting thicker and thicker.

Only the truth will make a true impact. Some say we live in “post-truth” times. F**k them. More and more people feel lost in a sea of absurd, contradicting forces attacking us from all directions in the world that changes so fast. I’m not one of them. Each passing year, I feel that my most precious contribution to any project is my honesty first, and film making skill second.

I have a cringe detector tuned to obsessive levels. I never take jobs only for financial gains. I would be too embarrassed to shoot yet another shayte, to pretend in front of the agency and client that “it’s so amazing.”

I love advertising, but there's more.

I’m also a writer, developing various ambitious feature and TV projects.

When I’m not working, you’ll find me walking long distances, packrafting rivers, drinking pour-over coffee, and seeking sanity through nature and stoicism.

So—if you have a story—do not hesitate to send it my way.

C ya & all the best
